Did you know your home inspection helps support working poor families in Baja Mexico? A portion of our earnings from every inspection goes toward building durable, efficient homes that provide families privacy, dignity, and safe living conditions. Less than 90-minutes drive from our Dev-Spec office, just south of the US/Mexico border, are agricultural areas characterized by breath-taking beauty and desperate poverty. Approximately 40% of fruits and vegetables Californians consume come from these regions of Mexico. Since 1994, we’ve built homes near Tijuana and, since 2015, in the hills of Ensenada. Homes are 16 feet by 20 feet, featuring three rooms and a loft, all constructed on a concrete slab. Houses are designed to be durable and efficient, providing lasting shelter for families. For many children, this means an end to unsafe living conditions in dirt floor shelters and laboring from dawn-to-dark alongside their parents in the fields. These efforts help parents keep children in school where kids can study in a secure environment and pursue education.
